"Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men [astrologers] from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 'Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We have seen his star as it arose, and we have come to worship him.'...After this interview [with King Herod] the wise men went their way. Once again the star appeared to them, guiding them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!" (Matthew 2:1-2, 9-10)
Apparently these wise men, or Magi, as they were called, were well practiced in astrology. But they had hearts open to the things of God. Even in the midst of their involvement with the occult, God used a star to point them to the truth.
Today, we must follow that same star -- looking to the King whom it declared. God did a special miracle that day by placing a star in the heavens that would "lead" the wise men to Jesus. God wants you also to learn the truth about His plan for the world. But you don't have to wait for some mystical experience or cosmic alignment, you can discover the life-changing, soul-inspiring truth of God on the pages of His Word, the Bible.
Jesus was sent to earth those many years ago to give humanity a second chance -- to give us the opportunity to fulfill our purpose in life. We need a Savior to rescue us from the evil of our hearts. Our pride, lust, greed, anger, bitterness, envy, deceit, and selfishness have destroyed our future and our ability to know our Creator.
But there is hope. He still has an amazing future planned for those who will follow Him. The Bible explains, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him." (1 Cor. 2:9)
Take a Step of Faith
"Following the star" costs something. Jesus said that to come after Him, we would have to lay down our old lives and let Him be our Leader; we would have to give up our selfish habits and behaviors, and love God above everything else in life. The wise men did that -- they set out on a journey that may have taken them months or even years -- and they came to worship the Savior, Jesus. They made a great sacrifice in their quest to meet the King.
From reading the rest of the story, we know now that Jesus died to set us free from sin, and rose again from the dead with power three days later. He is calling us to repent and join Him. -- to put our faith in God and begin a personal relationship with Him.
"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is." (Romans 12:1-2)
You can learn more about Jesus Christ by reading the New Testament of the Bible.

Hey people, this blog seems funny and narrow when I open it using Opera. Nonetheless, it seems to be ok in IE 7. Does anyone else observe this?

Actually, astrology is partly true, it can be practiced in a scientific way, very great saints such as Aquinas did it. But that does not mean it is exempt from sin. What is expressly condemned by our only real friend, God, is any future telling, taking the pretext of any science, let it be an ancient one such as astrology or hand-reading, or a modern one such as psychoanalysis or economy, which are even more demon-rife. If Jeremiah were among us, he would inveigh against most present-day university fields, such as sociology, which is useful and gainful only for advertisers and spying agencies, such as most of biology which is fraudulently tailored to the needs of wicked interests, not human health.

The customs and fashions of men change like leaves on the bough, some of which go and others come. Do you think so?

Some time ago, I did need to buy a good house for my business but I didn't have enough cash and could not purchase something. Thank goodness my dude proposed to get the credit loans at trustworthy creditors. So, I acted so and used to be happy with my college loan.
