As a Loving Father
Our human fathers can fail and do wrong...but not God. He offers the perfect, undying love that we long for...the security of a love not based on performance or appearance. He loves us for who we are because He created us! His love is totally undeserved...it can't be earned, bought, or manipulated. He will never leave you or forsake you.
As a Gracious Savior
Grace is when someone does something for you that you don't deserve and that you didn't work for. We don't experience God by performing church rituals or “doing good deeds”, we find God only because of His grace—His undeserved favor and love toward us! Jesus Christ, God in human flesh (Jn. 1:14) came to save us; to demonstrate the amazing grace and forgiveness of God.
As a Perfect Master
Nothing is more fulfilling than doing what we were created to do...serving our Perfect Master. God isn't a cruel taskmaster, but rather One who desires the best for us in every aspect of our lives. We might not always understand why certain things happen the way they do, or why God's commands are often hard to follow, but we can rest in the fact that God has our best interests at heart. We can take joy in obeying Him every day--reading His Word--and seeking to make every area of our lives pleasing to Him.
Challenge: Begin to experience God personally today by reading Psalm 145 in your Bible. Pray each verse back to the Lord as you read, as if it were your own prayer to Him.
If Apple has its way, not only oranges, but any fruit-shaped or fruit-colored objects would be kept from competing with apples.
