"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?" (Rom. 12:1, NLT).
In Old Testament times, people would regularly bring livestock to sacrifice before God, in accordance with the instructions in the Law of Moses. We know from the New Testament that God is (thankfully) no longer requiring such rituals. However, He asks us to do something far more personal, and far more costly.
He asks that we sacrifice ourselves.
This type of commitment isn't about blood or temples or rituals, it's about surrendering yourself to the will of God. Becoming a "living" sacrifice is wholeheartedly offering your life to Jesus Christ, saying, "Lord, whatever you ask of me, I'll obey."
So many people have it backwards, here. They think God really wants their offerings or church attendance or creeds or devotions, not realizing that He's always wanted a relationship, not a ritual. Even when the sacrificial system was in place during Old Testament times, David prayed, "You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart..." (Ps. 51)
Will you worship God in truth -- not with a song or service or saintly gesture -- but with a lifelong surrender of heart and soul? Will you offer yourself -- to live a righteous life, pursue God's purposes,in obedience and with love toward Him?
When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?

Even if Apple exceeds its wildest dreams for success with an Apple-branded television, there will be a much, much larger base of Apple TV-accessible HDTVs from other brands available for the foreseeable future.
