I've Broken the Law!

Breaking God's law is a serious offense, especially when you consider the fact that most of us have broken all of His laws many times (at least in our hearts). The Bible explains: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Will He find you innocent or guilty? Of lying? Of lust? Of greed?

If you're one of the many who would be willing to admit, "Yes God, I've done it. I have broken your law," there is hope for you.

Consider 2 Peter 3:9: "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise (to
judge the world).... He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to
perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

God could judge the world today -- game over, end of story. He would
have every right to do so, after all, He is the judge. But for now, He
waits.

His patience won't last forever. But He waits for people just like you
and I to come to our senses, to confess our wrongdoing to Him, and to
ask for His help. After all, that's why Jesus came in the first place,
to make it possible for us to reconnect to God.

God wants to forgive our sins and bring us into His family forever. For
those of us willing to turn from our sins and follow Jesus,
there is a bright future of hope and friendship with God.

Don't refuse His offer of mercy.

Take the Step: Psalm 51 in the Bible is a prayer of repentance toward
God -- read it and make it your own prayer. Confess your sins to God so
that He can forgive you and make you a new person. Commit yourself to
follow Jesus forever, by reading and obeying His Words in the Bible.
