Spreading the Infection

“...the whole offer which Christianity makes is this: that we can, if we let God have his way, come to share in the life of Christ... He came to this world and became a man in order to spread to other men the kind of life He has—by what I call ‘good infection.' Every Christian is to become a little Christ. The whole purpose of becoming a Christian is simply nothing else. ” -C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

Have you been infected by Jesus Christ? Jesus didn't suffer, die, and
rise from the dead with unmatched power merely to get you out of hell
and cushion your road to heaven with free assurances of love and mercy.
He came to revolutionize every part of human life. Yet to so many
believers, salvation is just about getting and securing; to Jesus,
salvation was about giving and surrendering.

On this point, the words of Scripture are clear. “And He died for all,
that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him
who died for them and was raised again.” (2 Cor. 5:15 NIV)

Jesus came to bring new life to humanity - not just a new future in
eternity, but new life here and now, on planet Earth—today. This
lifestyle of Christ-following should touch every aspect of who and what
we are - the clothes we wear, the entertainment we enjoy, the people we
love, the pleasures we experience, the way we respond to authority, the
way we treat our family members, the tone of voice we use, the way we
deal with stress - everything about our lives is to be ‘infected' with
Jesus.

That's why He came - to infect your life with righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. He came to make you new.
