In the days of Plato and Aristotle, chemistry appeared
to be a simple science. Philosophers postulated (understandably, given the absence of
microscopes), that the universe consisted of just four elements: water, earth,
fire, and air.
Later, as science became more sophisticated, the list of
“basics” began to grow.

There are a lot of "gloom and doom" statistics out there about marriages and families. And granted, there are some real problems. But there is another side to the statistics - some good news that should encourage you to get married if you're not, and stay married if you are - even if times are tough. Are you afraid of what other people think? Are you more concerned
about what others think of you then, well, what you yourself believe is
right? I came across a helpful Proverb in the Bible: “The fear of man
brings a snare, but he who trusts in the
Lord is kept safe.” (Proverbs 29:25, NIV)

If you ever travel to Concord, New Hampshire, you might see a
friendly, older fellow who is excited to share his faith in God. The more I discussed spiritual matters with
him, however, the more I felt like something was missing from his

We live in an angry world, don’t we? Domestic violence, temper tantrums, divorce, lawsuits,
even beer brawls. It doesn’t seem to
matter what age we are, where we live, or how many blessings we have in
life. The poor are ticked that they
aren’t rich. The rich are angry that the
poor are jealous. Everyone’s angry with
the government, for some reason or another. Blacks get angry with whites, whites get angry with Latinos, parents get
mad at children and teens can’t stand the rules at school.
